Featured Episode

Do you ever feel like you’re living two lives—one back home, and one here?

Download #12 now to hear lived experiences from people like you who have overcome challenges of international relocation.

In this episode founder, entrepreneur, and CEO Sophie Davies  unpacks leaving England, reshaping identity, and finding a sense of belonging in a place where nothing feels familiar.

In this episode you'll discover:

  • What no one tells you about the emotional transition of immigration, and why feeling “caught between cultures” is more common than you think.

  • Hear how Sophie navigated the pressures of adapting to a new culture without losing her authentic self—and how she learned to build meaningful community in a foreign land.

  •  Gain inspiration from her candid reflections on motherhood, entrepreneurship, and the silent courage it takes to create a new life abroad, even when you feel unprepared.

Meet Show Host Yolanda

Favorite Food: Japanese, Thai, many things Caribbean. I'm being brief.

Favorite Hobbies: travel everywhere. A dance class, time with friends, a bit of shopping, then quiet time with a fab book. I'm weaning myself off KDramas!

Favorite Travel Hack: plan three days of sightseeing but the remaining days are all about winging it- that's when the fun begins. Take a mimi First Aid kit, tea bags, and always a paid of low heals and a fab outfit.  Take your own food and snacks on flight.

Fun Fact: I'm smack-in-the-middle introverted/extroverted. I wanted to study anthropology & psychology before law. What happened?!

My Expat Story: We moved to the US for adventure and sun. Key words: fun, trials, unexpected events, unexpected triumphs. 'Oh Oh!  I did question our decision at one point. Lived in The Grenadines, France, England, USA ...  We're popping back to England ...we'll see how we settle in.
